ARTAN RUSHIDI

Contemporary artist

Raised among the mountains of North Macedonia and later settling in Belgium, the artist’s life has been shaped by movement between countries, languages, and cultures. This in-between space — between “elsewhere” and “here” — deeply informs their artistic practice and identity.
Fascinated from an early age by architecture, walls, and human-made structures meant to defy time, the artist initially turned toward architecture as a way of leaving a lasting mark. Art, however, gradually emerged as a necessity rather than a choice. What began as a means of survival — painting and customizing shoes — revealed itself as a powerful language of self-expression.

Through shoe-based artworks, the artist explores memory, identity, and emotion. Each piece functions as a fragment of lived experience, woven together to better understand the past and give form to inner landscapes. Shoelaces become lines of poetry, knots become memories, and materials carry emotion.

At the heart of this practice lies a belief that art is an act of memory and presence — a way to connect people, time periods, and emotions. What ultimately remains are not moments themselves, but the emotions they leave behind. It is within this space that the artist’s work exists: to weave memories, to bloom, and to leave a trace.

She paints where emotion is born.

MALKO BESSCHOPS

Photographer, Filmmaker

Malko Besschops is a Belgian visual artist working between photography and videography, with a constant desire to freeze time through the image.
He draws much of his inspiration from Impressionist and Expressionist painting, which he seeks to transpose through blur, movement, and visual distortion.

MATEO CASTROGIOVANNI

Film photographer

The artist’s creative journey began with sneaker customization. For several years, he dedicated himself to transforming shoes by hand, using painting as a way to give form to ideas and allow colors and shapes to speak freely. This early practice marked his first step toward visual storytelling and craftsmanship.

Film Photography soon became a central pillar of his artistic expression. Working primarily with film for over six years, he approaches photography as a slow and intentional process. In contrast to the speed of contemporary life, film allows him to pause, observe, and capture moments with patience and precision. Each image emerges from a deliberate gesture, where time, attention, and emotion converge.

His creativity is deeply nourished by movement and sound. Having lived in various places across Europe, including the Canary Islands, his work reflects a sensitivity shaped by travel, changing landscapes, and encounters. His Sicilian roots bring an added layer of authenticity and warmth, grounding his practice in memory and heritage. Music also plays a fundamental role in his creative process: a blues guitarist, Mateo draws inspiration from rhythm, improvisation, and emotion, which subtly echo through the atmosphere and cadence of his images.

Today, the camera is his primary language. Through it, he seeks to evoke emotion, spark curiosity, and invite viewers into intimate visual journeys. Each photograph tells a story, and each story becomes a form of art.

MIKE GRAY

Film photographer

As a film photographer with a spark for ingenuity, Mike enthralls the viewer with his cinematic stills, close up portraiture, and staged scenes. Although Gray recently began to focus more intently on photography, he embarked on an exploration into the creative/artistic realm a decade prior. He is best known for elevating people of color by drawing on historic events of the past to inspire his concepts. In this vein, he molds his own narrative in each photo he takes, warping the past to weave a better future. His recreations of historical moments elevate ordinary people to compelling figures of power. Gray’s images, layered with shock value and meaning, enable him to comment on the political and social systems of our current and past generations. with so much achieved from the first year and a half of his photography career. Mike will continue to push the narrative for the culture, and make it a priority that his voice is heard.
